HI, I’M STEFANIE
Did we just become best friends?
Twenty years in the beauty industry. Yeah, that officially puts me in the over-40 club —
and honestly? I’ve never felt more in my element.
I’m a professional makeup artist based in Sonoma and Napa County, specializing in bridal and photography makeup. I also teach one-on-one makeup lessons for anyone who wants to actually understand what they’re doing with a brush. A few years ago I took that love of teaching and turned it into content creation — you can find me on Instagram and TikTok talking all things beauty over 40, mature skin, and making makeup feel less overwhelming and a lot more fun. I’m also a Sephora Squad ambassador, which means I get to partner with brands and give you the real, unfiltered POV of a pro MUA who also happens to be a woman over 40. Think of it as your beauty big sister finally knowing what she’s doing.
Speaking of which — I grew up with zero resources. No tutorials, no internet, nobody around me who actually knew how to do their makeup. The turning point was landing a job at M·A·C Cosmetics while I was in college. I stayed for 13 years, working out of San Francisco, and learned everything. When my second baby came along, I left to stay home — and about five minutes later realized I missed makeup too much to walk away from it entirely. So I started freelancing, built my own business from scratch, and became one of the leading bridal makeup artists in Sonoma County.
My clients range from teenagers to a 96-year-old — and that range is one of my biggest assets. Every skin type, texture, age, and concern has come across my chair. I test everything on real skin before it ever touches yours. I’m the beauty bff you didn’t know you needed.
YOUR FACE IS THE MAGIC!
The biggest compliment I get as a makeup artist? “Oh my god, I could never do this myself. I wish I could take you home with me.”
It’s the sweetest thing — and it used to drive me a little crazy.
Here’s the thing: I specialize in natural glam. Just enough to make you look elevated, like a filter is happening but in real life. So when someone is in awe of what they see in the mirror, I have to be honest with them — that’s not me. That’s you. I just used a few products to make your features pop. Your face was always the magic.
That realization is what led me to teaching. I wanted my clients to stop thinking of makeup as something that required a professional and start seeing it as a skill they could actually learn. So I started offering one-on-one lessons, and then took it further — sharing tutorials and honest product recommendations on Instagram and TikTok. Tried and true, nothing I haven’t tested myself first.
Being a Sephora Squad ambassador has only deepened that — more access, more products, more to share with you. It all comes back to the same thing: I want you to look in the mirror and see yourself, just elevated.
MY FAMILY LIFE
Outside of makeup, I’m pretty simple and a little bit crazy!
I’ve been married to Chris for 17 years (together for over 25, and yes, he’s still a total hottie). We have two wild, incredible boys — Carmine, 14, and Luca, 12 — plus three cats, a blonde long-haired dachshund named Maui, and a hamster rounding out the chaos.
I’m a Scorpio through and through, and a 6w7 on the enneagram — which basically means I’m loyal, a little intense, and genuinely fun once you get past the rbf! I don’t have a huge friend group, just a handful of incredible women I feel really lucky to call mine. I’m introverted at my core. I want to be invited, I just don’t really want to go. Given the choice, I’d rather stay home and reorganize a closet. I also have raging ADHD, so whilst I’m organizing the closet — there is absolutely something else I’m supposed to be doing.
Home means everything to me. During the pandemic, Chris and I did something I never thought we’d pull off — we bought a few acres here in Sonoma County and built a house on it. I grew up here and somehow never realized how special it was. As an adult, living in the middle of wine country, doing work I love, on land we built something on from scratch — it doesn’t feel real sometimes. I am truly living my dream.
